Serious about Safety
At PowerSecure Solar we have a serious commitment to the highest standards of safety and compliance, which you can see in our company culture and robust Safety Program and our industry-leading safety-related system design.
A total, company-wide commitment
PowerSecure promotes, invests in, and builds its safety focus daily by training, communicating and working with all of its employees and contractors. With involvement from the executive level through the field team, safety is understood as a priority throughout our company.
A top-notch safety program
Each PowerSecure employee is required to read and acknowledge they will abide by our Solar Safety Program by signing a “Safety First” commitment, in order to protect themselves, co-workers, our customers, and the community throughout the duration of each project.
To ensure our team stays up-to-date with safety processes and procedures, we host formalized training sessions including the following;
New Hire Safety Training
Classroom safety training for new laborers and employees to bring them up to speed on best practices and hazard recognition.
Daily Safety Job Briefs
Daily Safety Job Briefs to review specific tasks and identify associated hazards
Each project has a Safety Team that promotes involvement and discussion about site hazards, safety issues and incidents, enhancements to our program, and training opportunities, and meets weekly to discuss and review company-wide safety practices.
A strong safety culture
PowerSecure Solar also promotes a strong safety culture by incorporating incentive programs and lunches with project teams, which fosters positive safety behavior while building team morale for all team members at each project site.
We created key staff positions focused exclusively on safety, including a Vice President, Safety Manager, and site-specific Advisors and Safety Team Captains. Each of these is a critical team member who helps PowerSecure refine our processes and engage staff members to ensure they abide by our Safety Program and Polices.
Safety built into the system
In addition to fully complying with the NEC and all local AHJ regulations, PowerSecure Solar designs include safety mechanisms engineered to prevent injuries and provide fire protection to workers and site occupants/users.
We also ensure that accurate calculations are completed to ensure employees and O&M providers are protected from Arc Flash hazards.
At the conclusion of each project a “Lessons Learned” is conducted which focuses on design enhancements to better protect our employees, clients, and communities.
